Description

The Monument Freeway - an extremely fun 12(ish) mile traverse that links the Northern Colorado Springs peaks together from the towns Monument to Palmer Lake. The Route Could be run S to N or N to S. If run S to N the route begins with Mount Herman and ends in downtown Palmer Lake. Being on the front range and lower elevation, this route provides for a perfect low elevation winter linkup 

Peaks Linked from S to N include 

Mount Herman - 9,063 ft

Raspberry Mountain - 8,616 ft

Chautauqua Mountain - 8,352 ft

Sundance Mountain A - 8,209 ft 

Sundance Mountain B - 8,255 ft

As a resident of Palmer Lake, I've run variations of this route and even thought about setting up a similar route. I was thinking about attending this FKT this fall, but I'm going to keep my eye on the weather and attempt it some time this summer as training for the Ascent. I'll keep you posted.
