Description

The Norris - Scenic Death March Traverse (aka Chuck Norris's Scenic Death March) is a loop adventure in Glacier National Park connecting the Norris and Scenic Death March traverses, starting and finishing at the Saint Mary Falls trailhead. It is an exceptional combination of trail running and off-trail scrambling through Glacier's inspiring scenery. With careful routefinding the route goes at no more difficult than class 3. It has some fairly irredeemable sections of chossy rock that make for difficult sidehilling or descent, but overall the highs of the route far outweigh these lows.

Please follow all applicable Park regulations, carry the necessary emergency gear including bear spray, and ideally register with the Park before starting off to aid in a potential SAR situation.

Think of this route as a beautiful, committing 15-mile scramble that happens to include 30 miles of trail running to access and get back home. The trail running is just the "pay to play" aspect in order to get to the real good stuff.
