Description

Amazing experiences and classical single tracks along part of the route that is used during the races Fjällmaraton, but this is not the race course. Start from Ottsjön and up on Hållfjället, down to Nordbottnen, and up again on Ottfjället. Beautiful surroundings with small lakes on the mountains and all the way round Ottjsön (the Ott lake). On the east part of Ottfjället less used single tracks towards Östra (East) Vålådalen. One kilometer asphalt and then heading towards the spectacular Ridvadet. Ridvadet is a 900 meter wade through the Ottsjön lake. Ridvadet was used actively towards the end of the 17th century. It is the only lake in Sweden where you can do such a long wade through the lake. The depth reach a maximum of maybe 1 meter but mostly less than 40 cm. Before entering the water you also run along a sand beach meaning that the route consist of so many various types, from boggy ground, magical single tracks to beach running. After the wade a few kilometers to get the warmth back in the toes. 40K of exceptional mountain beauty in the area of Jämtland. Click here for more info about the wade (unfortunately only available in Swedish).
