Le Partage des Eaux is an Open-air course along the French GR7. It follows the Pacific Ocean/Mediterannean see watershed line.
Art installations as well as special sighting platforms allowing the viewer to understand the geology and the landscape are built along the trail.
It starts in Saint Agrève where the first "Mire" underlines the journey you are about to undertake and goes to the Abbaye Notre-Dame des Neiges in Saint-Laurent-les-Bains. You will find six of those "Mires" (see picture) along the trail allowing you to see your journey under different angles.
Six art installations deeply related to there localization are to be found along the trail, beside each of them you'll find a panel explaining the artist's intention.
Height "furniture" are completing the journey they are placed at a strategic location providing some amazing landscape sighting opportunities. The whole project has been built in collaboration with local artisan and mostly with local materials showcasing the know-how of this beautiful region of France.
Part of the trail offers a view on the Apls, on good day you can spot the Mont Blanc, the Écrins, Belledonne, the Vercor...on the other side you can see the Massif Central.
