Description

Phnom Aural (5948ft/1813m) is Cambodia's high point.

The established trailhead begins at 738ft/225m and ascends rapidly up a 6 mile/9.7km trail. Some short downhill sections make for a total elevation gain of 5620 feet. A summit house at the top clear marks the high point and the end of the route.

Access to the trailhead is public. Take the dirt road off route 52 to Sre Kan 3 village. Once in the village, there is a 4 mile logging road which leads to the trailhead. In dry season, a tractor can be hired in the village to navigate the logging road which is flat but usually deeply rutted/muddy beyond the capability of most AWD vehicles. This route is passable but not advisable during wet season.
