This route may not seem to be too long at first glance but it has plenty of steep ups and downs throughout and makes for a strenuous outing where you will require good walking boots and full hill walking gear. It might be worth packing a small pair of binoculars too (along with a bird book) as you never know just what you might see as you walk. Much of the route is elevated above the sea and the route is best avoided on days of strong winds and bad weather. If you want to get the very best photos of this superb region you’ll be best waiting for a day of light winds, blue skies and bright sun anyway. The route begins with a steady climb through farmland where the views just get better and better. After this a descent is made to the sea at the hidden atmospheric cove of Ynys y Fydlyn where you will find a shingle beach and crystal clear water backed by dramatic rock scenery – its a true hideaway location and only accessible on foot and is still relatively unknown to a lot of visitors to Anglesey. It really is a peaceful and very beautiful place and makes an ideal spot for eating your lunch at or for just stopping and unwinding for a while.
