Description

The route traverses Rebun Island from its northernmost accessible point to its southern end, following the most logical and aesthetic line while minimizing road sections wherever possible.

Starting near Cape Sukoton in the north, the route links together Rebun's most scenic trails, coastal paths, and ridgeline sections before continuing south through the island's central mountainous area and eventually reaching Shiretoko on the southern coast . The objective was to complete a true north-to-south crossing of the island while staying on foot and maximizing trail quality.

Rebun is best known for its dramatic sea cliffs, alpine-like vegetation, and extensive views over the Sea of Japan. The route combines rugged coastal terrain, rolling hills, forest sections, and remote walking paths, offering a comprehensive traverse of the island's diverse landscapes.
