Run across the state of South Dakota between Wyoming and Minnesota, with the elevation change from the Black Hills to the flatlands of the prairie. The route consists of mostly remote highway running so pre planning is a must to stay stocked on water and food.
You can take any route, and run either direction, but here is a suggestion for a west-to-east run (which has a small net downhill): Start Wyoming / SD border on Old Highway 14, Run through the city of Spearfish, Run Short Section of Interstate 90 to Whitewood, Run frontage road from Whitewood to Sturgis, Run Highway 34 to the Highway 14 connector, and Highway 14 across!
