Admin note: The suggested route below is just one possible was to cross the state. Any points on the Minnesota/Iowa border and Lake Michigan may be used.
This Wisconsin Crossing FKT is a 370-mile run from the Mississippi River to Lake Michigan, connecting the very westernmost municipality in Wisconsin to the easternmost point. It begins at the Point Douglas Drawbridge in Prescott and ends at the ferry terminal in Ellison Bay at the tip of Door County. The route utilizes highways, rural roads, and rail trails—including the Chippewa River State Trail, Old Abe Trail, and Mountain Bay State Trail—crossing the state west to east and then north through Door County. Major towns include Eau Claire, Abbotsford, Wittenberg, Green Bay, and Sturgeon Bay. This is a point to point, an open course, so you can take any route in either direction. This route intentionally hits many small towns to allow for a Self-Supported effort.
