This the official description from the SwitzerlandMobility website [https://schweizmobil.ch/en/hiking-in-switzerland/route-138] :
The hiking trail offers an original way to discover the most surprising things the Olympic capital holds in store in terms of green spaces, panoramic views, places to enjoy the water and tourist attractions. Away from the traffic, you can enjoy the city's tranquillity and natural surroundings.
Crossing the city in a lush, green valley, along the Vuachère river and the fox path, walking on the shores of Lake Geneva, marvelling at the rose garden in the Vallée de la Jeunesse park, or wandering through the city's three forests: the Grand Lausanne Nature Trail with its many green and natural spaces is an ideal route to relax and recharge your batteries.
To better meet individual requirements, the route has been designed so that it can be divided into two ten-kilometre sections, each heading east or west. It is also possible to walk only short sections of the route, with multiple public transport stops along the way.
Visit the Olympic capital for the first time, leave from Sauvabelin and take the route eastwards to Ouchy. The walk passes by some of the most famous tourist sites: the port of Ouchy and the Belle Époque boats or Sauvabelin and its 35-metre tower, which affords 360-degree views of Lake Geneva, the Alps and the Jura. The tour also stands out with breathtaking views of the city, its monuments and its natural heritage.
