Starting at I-70, Salina Creek Dr, this route climbs steadily to 10,900 ft. It traverses the natural ridge on skyline drive (Skyline drive scenic backway) to Highway 6 in Spanish Fork Canyon.
This route was originally done by Craig Lloyd on Sept 13, 2014 in a time of 27:13:09. At that time it was the OKT. My watch recorded 112.19 miles, but that was a long time ago and watches have gotten better since then. A link to my Strava is here: https://www.strava.com/activities/194895907.
It was repeated in 2020 by Barkley ChubbyChecker Jones in 35:20:08. The date is being verified, but seems to have been on August 1. Barkley recorded 111.31 miles. Strava data will be posted later.
What Chelsea did was truly incredible. Shaving nearly 45 minutes off of the FKT while having to deal with that much mud, rain, and hail, is astounding. Congrats on her effort. This is an insanely beautiful route and one I hope will inspire people to do.
Nice job, Chelsea! Super impressive run! I can't imagine running that damn thing in all that mud.
