Description

St Cuthbert's Way starts in the Scottish Borders at Melrose Abbey and winds it's way through Scotland and into England, passing through into Northumbria where it traverses through the Cheviot Hills before eventually getting to Holy Island where there's a tidal causeway to access the island and finish up at the Priory. The route is one of the most popular hiking routes in Southern Scotland/Northern England and is classic Borders' countryside of rolling hills punctuated by abbeys, castles and priories. The highest point of the route is 338m so don't expect huge climbs, but plenty of smaller hills on the way.
