Description

The Infinity Loop is a thru hike of the entire Superstition Wilderness, one of the most rugged, unforgiving, and beautiful desert wilderness areas in the country. This journey weaves together established trails, social routes, long stretches of overgrown and unused trails, sharp ridgelines, deep canyons, and endless desert terrain. Rough terrain, unmaintained trails and lack of water make this thru hike much more difficult than any 360 mile section of regularly hiked long distance trails. Timing water availability is imperative in order to attempt the Infinity Loop. One or two times a year, enough rain falls to temporarily fill up seasonal creeks, with about 3 weeks of dwindling supply. From running creeks, to algae covered puddles… this thru hike must be completed quickly, or water will become incredibly scarce deep in the backcountry of the Superstitions.
