Description

The Switchgrass Mountain Bike trail is located at Wilson Lake.  These trails offer several different kind of challenges from technical rocky single track to roots running through the trees.  The views are amazing and include scenic views of the lake, red rock bluffs, and native grass prairie.  These are mountain bike trails but, are a trail runners paradise. There is enough climbing to make you forget you are in pancake flat Kansas.  These trails have been described as epic and are definitely well maintained.

The easiest way to get to trails is to go North on Exit 206 from I70 5 miles until you get to Wilson Lake. There is a $5 fee to park for the day. The route starts at the trail head at the switchgrass campground near the bath house.  It is mostly done clockwise and consist of three loops. Done in order they are the Golden Belt Loop, Marina Loop, and Hell Creek loop. It is around 22 miles long.  There are several place where the trail forks and you will just always take the arrow that says epic.
