Description

A 50 mile circular route through East Sussex and Kent discovering the hidden valleys, hills, villages and ancient trackways that make up the landscape of the beautiful and historic High Weald Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The four cornerstones of the walk are the three castles at Bodiam,Sissinghurst and Scotney, and Batemans House where famous writer Rudyard Kipling made home .

The right balance of woodland, single track, bridges ,river crossings and mud.the route has been around for 10 years now and at times follows a number of other trails .

The trail has some small road and lane sections but is largely trail and at autumn, winter can be very muddy as is often the case in the Weald .

There is access to shops and refreshments on route:Sandhurst,Robertsbridge,Burwash,Wadhurst,Lamberhurst and Cranbrook.
