The Trexler Double
Route Overview
This FKT route follows the Trexler Border Trail, a spectacular 9+ mile perimeter trail that encircles the entire 1,108-acre Trexler Nature Preserve. What makes this FKT unique is the double loop format - you'll complete two full loops of the Border Trail, with the second loop running in the opposite direction from the first.
Route Description
The Trexler Double is an 18.1-mile adventure that showcases one of the highlights of trail running in eastern Pennsylvania. This challenging route presents runners with diverse terrain and unique wildlife viewing opportunities in this historic preserve. Trexler Nature Preserve, located in Pennsylvania's beautiful Lehigh Valley about an hour from Philadelphia, was originally established to protect endangered bison and elk, making it both a natural and historical treasure.
The Border Trail traverses through the preserve's distinct North, South, and Central ranges, each offering unique landscapes from rolling meadows and hills to hemlock forests and deep ravines.

Rules
- The route must follow the official Trexler Border Trail for two complete loops
- The first loop may be run in either direction (clockwise or counter-clockwise)
