Description

Verbier - Zermatt is the running version of what skiers and hikers have long had, a Haute Route.

The multi-stage route moves through some of the Swiss Alps’ most dramatic and beautiful terrain, traversing in and out of valleys rather than straight up and down. We will  run beneath numerous 4000-meter peaks, alongside glaciers, and over high, alpine passes. It’s the trail runner’s dream tour.

The route is published both at: https://elevation.alpsinsight.com/via-valais-intro/ as well as in the official web site of the region of Valais: https://www.valais.ch/de/touren/wandern/trail-running/via-valais-verbier-zermatt

For the FKT, we will not start directly at Les Ruinettes but further down at Verbier, adding 4.5km  y 670m, The reason is that we will be aiming for an early start and otherwise we will have to wait until the first cable car goes up. The rest of the route is identical.
