Description

This is a route designed to run from the our state capitol, Trenton, to the shore. Informally dubbed the Canal to Shore 44, it was inspired by the High Point to Cape May route. Starting at the D & R Canal Parking Area and ending at the Point Pleasant boardwalk, this route will take you through some of NJ's scenic landscapes: trails, horse farms, the Six Flags Wild Safari and then finish with road running as the approach to the shore gets closer. Finally, end the route by running onto one of NJ's most iconic boardwalks and reward yourself by jumping in the ocean (*ocean not mandatory but highly recommended).

The route start by heading to Delaware and Raritan Canal State Park Trail for some scenic adventure. It takes advantage of sidewalks and cycling paths along roads and should be safe overall. Be aware at any road crossing you do. Link to map and overview of amenities.
