Josh Burns posted:

One of Vermont’s most scenic ridges, the Worcester Range located primarily in CC Putnam State Forest is a string of mountains east of the Green Mountains outside of Stowe. The Peaks from north to south include Worcester Mountain (3293’), Hogback Mountain (3505’), Stowe Pinnacle (2651’), Mt. Hunger (3539’), and White Rock Mountain (3194’). The secluded 15.5 mile (Green Mtn Club) traverse contains high lush forests, exposed bald summits, and expansive views of the Greens, Adirondacks, and Whites. National Geographic Trails Illustrated Map states, “Use caution when hiking between Mt. Hunger and Mt. Worcester.” This section is referred to as the Skyline Trail which contains very rugged, technical, and boggy ridge running.

My effort today on September 28, 2015 was a cumulative time of 3 hours 10 minutes and 56 seconds. My GPS data read 13.02 miles with 5184 feet of ascent and 4921 feet of descent. My route started at the Worcester Mountain Trailhead, ascended Worcester Mountain Trail, and continued south on the Skyline Trail. I then included the out and back to Stowe Pinnacle via Ridge Trail. After returning to Skyline Trail I continued south to Mt. Hunger, White Rock Mountain, finally down Bob Kemp Trail to Middlesex Trailhead. If there is more information on previous traverses, I'd be interested in hearing about them.

Took this one from you today. 2:58. You RD'd at ghost train a few years ago right? We should get out for a run some time.

Hey, congrats Alexander and an awesome time too! You should submit it to get listed. I'm game for a run some time, but never been to ghost train..

Hi Alex - you might be thinking of Josh Katzman, who also has a long running history in this particular mountain range and who RD'd at Ghost Train a few years back. Both Joshes are 10/10, top-shelf individuals.
