Description

A 13-mile mostly trail route around the Saugatuck Reservoir in Weston, Redding, and Easton Connecticut. Loop starts at Bradley Lane parking lot in Weston, in the Trout Brook Valley Preserve, travels down Bradley Lane, up Valley Forge Road, to Davis Hill Road, to the Saugatuck Trail in the Centennial State Forest. Follow the trail (blue blazes) around the reservoir until it crosses an old forest road. Take a right, follow the road until you get to a cable across the road. This is the border between the Centennial State Forest and the Trout Brook Valley Preserve. Follow the orange trail to green, turn left, follow to white trail, turn left, follow back to starting point at the parking lot.
A permit is supposedly required to travel through the Centennial forest. The permit is free, and is the trail map which can be ordered online or obtained at the trail head.
