7:44 stopwatch time from pole to bridge.
Timing was good: sun was up but it was cloudy so no shadows and everything was easy to see. Only had to pass < 10 people, which is basically a miracle on Sanitas. Trails were dry, some loose dirt & rocks. So maybe could be a little faster a couple days after it rains but overall great conditions.
Made two technical mistakes that I remember - overshot a turn near the top and went around an extra tree 2/3 of the way down. But kept momentum throughout pretty well. I've run this trail enough times by now I'm pretty dialed on the best line the whole way.
I didn't feel too fast on the couple flatter more open sections, but was very efficient on the technical bits. It never felt like I was having a great physical performance because my legs & lungs didn't feel great, but I sensed that I was making good time and the sense was right!
I was pretty COVID-responsible, I think I got my mask up in time for all the people I passed except one.
I think a theoretical best time with zero people, no COVID mask to worry about, a tiny bit faster trail conditions, and a perfect navigation + physical performance for me would be 7:30ish. But this was a good one!
