Description

Arcadia Trail is a 14 mile out and back through Arcadia Management Area in Rhode Island. The trail is almost entirely single track, with a few very technical boulder fields along the way. The start is at the Appie Crossing trailhead on Rt 165 in Exeter, with the turnaround at the end of the trail at the old DEM headquarters on Arcadia Rd in Richmond. The trail is well blazed with yellow throughout, and shares a couple of miles with the blue blazed North South Trail. Runners should start and end at the two yellow blazes on the tree marking the start of the trail (shown in picture), and turn around after reaching Arcadia Rd with the old headquarters and Smokey the Bear sign visible (shown in picture). A short blue blazed spur trail skirts the fun boulder fields, runners should be sure to stay with the proper yellow blazes to run through them.
