Description

Duff Park 10-Mile Loop.

The Duff Park 10-Mile Loop is a challenging trail route located in Murrysville, Pennsylvania. It connects both Duff Park and Pleasant Valley park. The course showcases nearly every major trail within the parks, creating a well-rounded double loop that combines flowing singletrack, steep climbs, technical descents, creek crossings, and fast runnable sections.

Covering approximately 10 miles (16.1 km) with 1,580 feet (481 meters) of elevation gain, the route is designed to test both endurance and trail-running ability. The terrain continually changes throughout the run, requiring efficient climbing, confident descending, and careful footing on rocky and root-filled trails.

The route begins and ends at the main Roberts Trail Access trailhead, forming a true loop. It follows established park trails without leaving the designated trail system and highlights the park's diverse terrain while avoiding unnecessary out-and-back sections whenever possible.

This route was created to provide a definitive endurance challenge within the parks. While individual trails are frequently used by hikers and runners, this loop connects them into a single continuous effort that represents the best of what the park has to offer. It serves as an excellent benchmark for local trail runners and visitors looking to experience the park in its entirety.

Runners attempting this FKT should follow the attached GPX track as the official course. Staying on the established trail system and completing the full loop without shortcuts is required for a valid attempt. Because trail conditions can vary with weather, participants should exercise caution during wet or icy conditions, particularly on steep descents and creek crossings.

The Duff Park 10-Mile Loop is intended to become the standard Fastest Known Time route for Duff Park, offering a challenging, repeatable course that highlights one of western Pennsylvania's premier trail-running destinations.

To Start have you hand one the closest yellow pole to the trail where parking lot and trail meet. Touch the same pole as you finish up.
