Description

Infinity Loop: The basic concept is to draw two connected circles in the approximate shape of an infinity symbol.  In the spirit of the Infinity Loop of Mount Rainier, this FKT climbs Humphreys Peak twice and then circles around each half of the Round Hump route to return to the start each time.

Starting point, direction, and choice of which loop to do first are at the discretion of the runner.  The following instructions begin at Snow Bowl, ascend Humphreys, descend to the Inner Basin, and take a left to circle the north half of the loop first.  Then the up/over is repeated, turning right to circle the south half of the loop second.

1) From Snow Bowl, climb Humphreys Peak Trail to the top of the mountain
Return to the saddle at 11,800 feet
Continue straight on Weatherford Trail
Turn left to descend Inner Basin Trail
Turn left onto Waterline Trail
Turn right to descend Bear Jaw Trail
Pass the Abineau-Bear Jaw trailhead
Turn left onto road 418
Turn left on the Arizona Trail
Turn left onto the connector trail toward Arizona Snow Bowl
Return to Humphreys Peak Trail to close the first loop

Optional - return to Snow Bowl for resupply

2) Climb Humphreys Peak Trail to the top of the mountain
Return to the saddle at 11,800 feet
Continue straight on Weatherford Trail
Turn left to descend Inner Basin Trail
Turn right onto Waterline Trail
Turn right on Schultz Pass Road
Turn right on Weatherford Trail
Turn left onto Kachina Trail
Return to Snow Bowl and finish at the starting location to close the second loop

Finished this morning in 24:55 (supported). Infinity Loop is such a fun and challenge concept!

FYI the trail from the AZT up to Snowbowl is currently rerouted; signage is obvious from the bottom but maybe not so much from the parking lot if you go in the opposite direction
