Hurricane Mountain, one of the more popular and stunning peaks in all the Adirondack Park, gets plenty of attention, despite not being a "forty-six" High Peak. Views atop Hurricane are expansive in all directions, looking south and west at the High Peaks Wilderness and east towards Lake Champlain and the Green Mountains of Vermont. A fire-tower sits atop the summit where one can climb and get an even better and more exposed view. There are three trails to the summit of Hurricane. The primary trail is the most popular and most easily accessible, via the Hurricane Mtn TH off route 9N. It climbs about 2,100' in 3.14 miles. The out & back has a Strava segment, BUT please use a stopwatch to keep your time from the parking lot!
