Description

This route was created to celebrate the achievements of three powerful women from successive generations of the Kentish royal family in the 6th and 7th centuries.

It starts at St Martins in Canterbury where Queen Bertha prayed in the late 6th century ,continues through Lyminge where Bertha’s daughter Ethelburga founded a church in 630 and it ends in Folkestone at the church founded by Bertha’s granddaughter Eanswythe.

The route is another Kentish beauty passing more than the aforementioned 3 churches.some lovely country lanes especially in the first 8 miles and some lovely stretches of farmland and woodlands.Eventually opening up to expansive views over glorious Folkestone.
