The Rush Creek Regional Trail is approximately 10 miles long spanning from Elm Creek Park Reserve to the Mississippi Gateway Regional Park.  The paved trail is popular with local walkers, runners and bikers.  The trail meanders through many sections of forested areas, woods, prairies and through a few sections of quiet suburban neighborhoods.  Ending at the dam makes for a nice finale (if you go west to east) and is quite a sight to see and worth crossing at least once to experience the mighty power of the Mississippi.  This trail is popular all year round due to the fact that Champlin and Brooklyn Park are very good at clearing the snow off the trails in the winter.  The Rush Creek Regional Trail is a great retreat for all (including leashed pets) and plenty wide enough to accommodate everyone even in the summer months.
