This is the full official mtb tour of Sport Vlaanderen Zemst, 51,2 km long and a combination of the 3 tours, marked with green, blue and red signs. Like in many other places the cycling and MTB routes in Belgium also work as footpaths and constitue a great challange. This route combines every nice spot in the wide area around Zemst, Hofstade, Eppegem, Elewijt and Houtem (the north of Vilvoorde). The main landscape is mainly flat in this area, with gravel roads in the fields, woods and some offroad single tracks. The route has wide open panorama's and passes by historical places like the Rubens Castle (the castle where the famous painter Rubens lived and died), the Old Mill of Weerde, and almost all nature reserve parcs in the area, like the Dorent, the Vriezenbroek, the Weerdse Visvijver and the only remaining meanders of the Zenne river north of Brussels. It is a true full loop to discover all great and beautiful places of Zemst (Eppegem, Elewijt, Hofstade, Houtem/Vilvoorde). The route will take you through some residential areas and combine those with the many green areas and landscapes.
