Description

The Tasmanian Trail is a ~480 km multi-use trail extending from Devonport to Dover, Tasmania, Australia. The route is designed for hiking, cycling, and horse riding and traverses a mix of sealed roads, gravel roads, farm tracks, singletrack, and occasionally indistinct or undefined trail.

The trail passes through a combination of public land and sections of private property, accessed via longstanding agreements managed by the Tasmanian Trail Association. Legal access to the full route requires adherence to these agreements, and trail users are encouraged to obtain current route information and permissions through Association membership.

Numerous alternate alignments exist to account for seasonal conditions, land access, and mode of travel. FKT attempts should follow the primary route as defined by the Tasmanian Trail Association at the time of the effort, with any deviations clearly documented.

FKT classifications are based on style of support, not land tenure. Provided all access is lawful and no external assistance is received, unsupported and self-supported efforts are permitted on this route.
