Description

This is a beautiful route that combines some of the best sections of both the west and east sides of the Teton range with a high point of climbing the Grand Teton before changing sides. The route includes trail, adventurous off trail route finding, and 4th and 5th class climbing. The Teton Crest Uppercut begins at Phillips Pass TH on Teton Pass and follows the classic Teton Crest for roughly 26.5 miles before heading east off trail up Dartmouth Basin. Ascend Dartmouth to the lower saddle of the Grand Teton and climb up and down the summit before descending the eastern side of the range via the Garnet Meadows/ Lupine Meadows trails. From Lupine Meadows follow the Valley Trail north for a final 5 miles around Jenny Lake and ending at the eastern String Lake TH. The route is approximately 42.5 miles with roughly 13,000 ft of elevation gain.
