Vogelbräu is an institution for beer lovers in Karlsruhe and its surroundings, and as there are three Vogel brew pubs – one in Karlsruhe, one in Ettlingen and one in Durlach –, they’ve devised a fun way to visit them all: the Tour de Vogel (https://www.vogelbraeu.de/tour-de-vogel.html). On this tour, you visit all three Vogel brew pubs, have a drink (optional!) at each and have the waiters confirm it. You then get your third drink on the house.
Originally conceived as a bike tour, we thought that this would be a fun running project, so we adapted the route to make it a bit more running friendly. You can start at any of the three Vogel brew pubs, and then make your way through the city, surrounding fields between Karlsruhe and Ettlingen and the woods between Ettlingen and Durlach. In the spirit of the Tour de Vogel, may optionally have a drink at each Vogel - it adds to the time but is way more fun this way.
