Description

The Vancouver 3 Peaks route is 68 km long through deep snow, rivers and beautiful views. The trail head / start of the route is steps away from Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal, beginning with a gradual incline on rocky terrain. It also happens to be the start of the Baden Powell trail, a 48km well-marked route with beautiful undulations. Summiting Cypress (peak 1) was fairly well marked, but making our way to Grouse Mountain (peak 2), we grappled our way up the Flint and Feather Trail. This trail branches off BCMC and is best identified by a flat burned tree stump and neighbouring creek. Follow the side of the creek upwards for nearly 2km and you will be challenged with technical terrain and rewarded with breathtaking views to Seymour Mountain (peak 3) and ending at the parking lot coming back down. (Note that the first known completion of this linkup was in deep snow on May 1.)
