Description

Yam el Yam (Sea to Sea) is a stunning trail that traverses across Israel from the Sea of Galilee to the Mediterranean Sea. Starting from the Sea of Galilee, the lowest freshwater lake on Earth, the trail meanders through Nahal Amud which is dotted with ruins and swimming holes. Coming out of the junction from Nahal Amud/Nahal Meron the trail leads towards the tomb of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yocha near the town of Meron. Next, the trail takes its steepest elevation gain heading towards Mt. Meron. The next section winds through trails near Druze villages and eventually leads to the town of Abirim. From Abirim, you run along Nahal Kziv and do the last notable ascent of the trail up the Montfort Castle. The trail is all downhill from there as you pass through coastal plains marked by kibbutzim as you approach the ever-welcoming Achziv Beach on the Mediterranean Sea.
