"The Adena Trace is 25 miles total in length and forms a complete circle around the southern half of Brookville Lake. In 2002 volunteers with the Hoosier Hikers Council and the American Hiking Society constructed the new Woodlands Trail to replace a portion on the east side of the reservoir that borrowed a road. Throughout 1998 and 2001 the HHC constructed the 11-mile Wolf Creek Trail on the western half of the lake, which completed the 25-mile loop in place today."

Note that the FKT route excludes the short lollipop stick of the Midway Trail on the west side of the lake. Also, on the east side of the lake, the FKT route uses the soft-surface Woodland Trail instead of the paved Scenic Trail alternative.

It appears to start at the Midway trailhead. Is it a clockwise or counterclockwise loop after the stem of the lollipop?

Either direction. Go the faster way!

I am going to give this route a first attempt 5/20/23 starting at the south end and running counterclockwise.

I'm going to give this a go on 5/28 barring any major weather issues. This is my first official FKT attempt anywhere so not even really looking to get on the board. Just want to finish under 7 hrs

I am now doing the Twin Valley Trail instead on 5/28.

Hi, Taton Bertsch here. I will be going for the unsupported FKT record on Sat. February 8th. I plan to start at 9am, at the Bonwell Trailhead parking lot near the dam, and go counterclockwise. I ran the Adena Trace loop (including Glidewell loop) for the first time back in March of 2024. I absolutely loved this trail and knew I’d be back again.
