Description

The route starts at Andrews Cove campground and heads towards Tray Mountain, the first of eleven 4000-Foot peaks the route passes by. From Tray, the remaining ten 4000-footers are Brier creek bald, Rocky mountain, Blue mountain, Spaniards knob, the South wolfpen ridge, Brasstown bald (the highest peak in GA), Horsetrough mountain, Blood mountain, Coosa Bald, and Slaughter mountain. The route ends at Vogel State park. The route covers 6 of the top 10 tallest peak in GA. Most of the route is on the GA AT (~40 miles) with the remaining ~21 miles on other trails (~20 miles) and FS roads (~1 mile). A short bushwhack is needed to reach Brier Creek bald.
