Description

The Gatineau Park Perimeter Loop covers the complete eastern half of the Park located just outside Canada's capital,  Ottawa. The route covers the southern escarpment section of the Park, with its numerous great vistas of the city and Ottawa River, along with numerous beautiful lakes in the northern interior of the Park. It utilizes a wide variety of single and double track ski, snowshoe, mtb and hiking trails.

The route starts at the front steps of the Visitor Centre in Chelsea, and heads to the SE corner of the Park before starting an almost 50k run along the escarpment, with all of its stunning views. In the northern section, it goes by several lakes before turning back south to the centre of the Park. With one final big climb near the Camp Fortune ski hill, it then finishes with a big descent to the Visitor Centre in Chelsea.
