Description

The route follows Rampart Range Road from highway 67 in Sedalia to Garden Drive in Colorado Springs. Rampart Range Road is a dirt road that was built during the Great Depression of the 1930's by the Civil Conservation Corps. The route varies from 6,300' to 9,500' of elevation and offers fantastic views of the front range from Castle Rock to Colorado Springs to the east, the mountains of Pike National forest to the west and Waldo Canyon, Manitou Springs and Pikes Peak to the South. The route passes Devils Head and Rampart Reservoir before finishing at the entrance to the iconic Garden of the Gods adjacent to Balanced Rock and Steamboat Rock. This route is simple to navigate and will be repeatable because it follows Rampart Range Road the entire duration.

I plan to make a supported FKT attempt on 11/27/21! I'm lucky enough to be crewed by great friends, family and current FKT holder Dave Leung! - Todd Dill
