Description

Classic peak in the Bridge Range. Visible from nearly everywhere in Bozeman. Ross Peak is a great sprint that entails easy scrambling, route finding and kitty litter sliding. Super fun, quick and easy.

We used the Middle Fork Bracket Creek Trailhead, which is the fastest and easiest way to the summit. Not to be confused with Upper Lower Bracket Creek Trailhead which would add over 2 miles to the route. Follow the trail two miles to Ross Pass then hike directly up the south face of the peak. Hiking is steep and loose but difficulty should not exceed Class 2. Reverse the route to the trailhead.

Submitter's comment: Please note, we got slightly off route on the descent. Wrong gully resulted in some 4th/easy 5th down climbing. Please beware if you follow our GPX. We were less than 100 feet from the ascent route and milage is the same.
