Description

The Mount Vernon Trail is an awesome trail following the Potomac River from Theodore Roosevelt Island to Mount Vernon. It had amazing views of the major sights in the Washington, DC Area such as Iwo Jima, the Washington Monument, the Capitol, the Key Bridge, Mount Vernon and Olde Town Alexandria. The course is paved and marked every mile with a mile marker so used by lots of cyclist and runners. It has been a staple of my training since I started running and really proud to set the FKT on it for one way and double.
