Grande Traverséé du Massif des Vosges (France)

Description

The Grande Traversée du Massif des Vosges is the first leading quality trail labelled in France.  This route was created in 1897 and crossed the Vosges mountains on the French - German boarder from north to South, indicated  by a red rectangle.

The route starts in Wissembourg on the GR 53 crosses the national part of the Northern Vosges before joining the GR5 to cross the national park of the Vosges Ballons.  The route finishes at the world famous citadel in Belfort with its Lion sculpted by Bartholdi.

An hour and a half northeast of Seattle, sitting just off of the Mountain Loop Highway, is the majestic Mount Pilchuck towering on the edge of the North Cascades.

Devil's Path - Long Path - Escarpment Trail (NY)

Description

This route starts on Devil's Path in West Kill, NY.  The goal is to run the entire Devil's Path, then hop on the Long Path to connect to the Escarpment Trail.  Then the goal would be to run the entire Escarpment Trail and finish in Elm Ridge Wild Forest.  The route may be run in either direction.  This course is about 56 miles with around 19,385 ft.
