The Romans and Reivers Route follows old Roman roads, forest tracks, drove roads and short sections of quiet lane through the heart of the notorious Reivers country through the Southern Uplands.  The route runs from Ae Village to the north of Dumfries to just outside Hawick.

The route encompasses the entirety of the Onondaga Trail (light blue blazes; coincides with the North Country National Scenic Trail), a portion of the main Finger Lakes Trail (white blazes), and a portion of the NCNST's Link Trail (yellow blazes). The route is mainly single track with some forest and paved road sections and can be started at any point and run either direction. The trail crosses Morgan Hill State Forest, Cuyler Hill State Forest, Mariposa State Forest, Muller Hill State Forest, Tioughnioga Wildlife Management Area, DeRuyter State Forest, and Highland Forest County Park. 

Magnolia Road is a famous dirt road connecting Nederland and Boulder in Colorado. Located at and over 8,000 feet, the 15-mile round-trip is an iconic training route, long run, and hard effort destination for serious road and trail runners alike in the Front Range.
