Description

The Cold River Loop is a remote 30 mile loop in the High Peaks Wilderness of the Adirondack Mountains of New York. It is a scenic loop that utilizes the Calkins Brook Truck Trail, the Cold River section of the Northville Placid Trail, and the Ward Brook Truck Trail to circumnavigate the four Seward Range Adirondack High Peaks. The loop follows the beautiful Cold River, traverses a beaver swamp, and even passes through Noah John Rondeau (the "Mayor of Cold River")'s old hermitage. It is a popular backpacking loop but a beautiful day hike as well.

There isn't a website specific to this route, but one can find many trip reports online.
