Lyon Mountain (NY)
Lyon mountain is a looming giant in the northern reaches of the Adirondack mountains. It is the highest point in Clinton County NY and has two trails up, the old (no longer maintained) and the new trail. Lyon Mountain's rich history and unique trail attract outdoor enthusiasts from all around. This mountain has been home to mining operations, skiing and fire tower observers. Remnants of the old ski lift as well as the old observers cabin can be see around the mountain. The old trail is home to the former ski trails as well as the observers cabin.

The Magnall Round
The Magnall Round is a circular route of 21 miles that starts and finishes at Needham Market Railway Station. It uses public rights of way, paths, tracks and riverside paths. Passing through the Parishes of Barking, Darmsden, Baylham and Great Blakenham, the route then joins the riverside path of the River Gipping. The route passes through the rolling countryside of Mid Suffolk, a place which is rarely visited by outsiders, a hidden gem.

Cathlapotle Trail of 8 Falls (Lewis River)
While Oregon has Silver Creek’s enormously popular Trail of 10 Falls, Washington’s version on the Lewis River is a quieter version if no less stunning. Featuring thundering block style waterfalls, a unique double rock arch waterfall and other gorgeous water features, the Lewis River Trail is a trailrunners dream. With old growth forest, buttery singletrack and for most of the trail, solitude, this route is open for most of the year. The waterfalls change appearance with water levels, making this a route that is fun to return to again and again.

West Highland Way 180
The route starts at the train station in Aviemore and follows the East Highland Way to FortWilliam and then picks up the West Highland Way to Milngarvie. The route is varied and covers many different terrains. The first 85 miles (Aviemore to Fortwilliam) isn't very well way marked, however the second part 96 miles (Fortwilliam to Milngarvie) is very well way marked. More information regarding the route can be found on the following webiste who I undertook the event WHW 180 with. West Highland Way CHALLENGE Race - Welcome + Race
