James Peak Ascent

Description

James Peak via East Portal is an iconic climb in the Indian Peaks Wilderness! Starting at the trailhead, the first few miles toward Rogers Pass Lake remind you of Beast Coast trails, with roots and rocks. A steep climb to Rogers Pass leads into the most stunning alpine single-track you've ever seen, before a gut-punch climb to the summit.

The only tricky part is at the pass, where the trail vanishes for a few hundred feet. Keep going straight and you'll hit James Peak Trail.

Plenty of water sources along the way too!

The Octagon Parish is made up of eight villages with churches: Stansted, Racton, Stoughton, East Marden, North Marden, Compton and Forestside and two villages without churches: West Marden and Walderton. Blessed with wonderful walks and and fine views down to the south coast, its small ancient downland churches are noted for their spiritual peace and tranquility, some dating back to the saxon times.

Tour de Parks

A route that will take you through 14 parks and trails throughout Ames Iowa. I created this course to run through all of the major parks in Ames as well as some of its paved trails and past the IA State football stadium (Jack Trice Stadium). It really shows off how Ames has connected all of their parks without hitting a lot of traffic and at the same time seeing some beautiful parts of the city.
