Description

The Regional Hiking Trail between Blankenfelde and Baruth follows the motto: “Right nearby, out in nature”. On this route, hikers explore the area between the Teltow plateau and the Baruth glacial valley. The varied Ice Age landscape is clearly visible along the way. Meltwater from the Weichselian glaciation formed the glacial valley. The shimmering beauty of the Mark Brandenburg sand stretches northward across once wind-blown dune areas, pine-covered sand plains, and terminal moraines. The plant and animal life has developed during the current warm period.

Description

The Foothill Ultimate Ridge Linkup ("FURL") is the proud sibling of the infamous WURL (Wasatch Ultimate Ridge Linkup)—except this one comes with a dirt trail.
For those who prefer their miles to be on singletrack rather than clinging to slabs, scrambling on loose talus, or pondering their life choices mid-5th class, the FURL offers a "civilized" circumnavigation of Salt Lake City’s foothill canyons.
