Waterton Lakes 32 Peaks (AB, Canada)

Description

Waterton Lakes National Park (WLNP) has 32 peaks, the majority of which require hands-on scrambling but never more than low 5th class. Only one of the peaks has an established trail to the top, so good route-finding is both necessary and part of the fun in bagging the peaks. Some of the summits can be linked via connecting ridges - but not all - which makes for endless route possibilities. Snow lingers on northern aspects well into the summer and arrives early in the fall, adding another challenge to completing the list.

Description

Pikes Peak is a 14k peak towering over the City of Manitou Springs and the surrounding area. It serves as a training ground for elite trail runners, alpinists, and outdoor enthusiasts and is home to the third oldest marathon and first to allow women to compete in America, the Pikes Peak Marathon. The Pikes Peak Backslap combines the two popular trade routes up, and down, Pikes Peak (14,110'); the Barr Trail and Crags Trail. Together, these two trails unite to birth the Pikes Peak Backslap!

Jebel al Lawz (Saudi Arabia)

Description

Amazing route, starting at the road junction with I394 and then following the mountain road for over 21 miles before breaking off to the Jebel al Lawz (2580m) viewing point which overlooks the surrounding mountain range. A very challenging route as its almost constantly climbing throughout, apart from short sections which are steep declines.

This route is special as its only the second FKT route in Saudi Arabia and it ascends one of the most iconic and historical sites in the region.
