Description

Down East Sunrise Trail is an 87 mile wide unpaved multi use trail.  It is the longest continual section of the East Coast Greenway.

West Highland Way (United Kingdom)

Description

This is a premier walking trail route in Scotland. It runs from a small town to the north of Glasgow to Fort William. The route takes in Loch Lomond and then enters Scotland's Western Highlands through Glencoe and then up to Fort William. It is a popular tourist walk but it can also be a trail run. There is an official West Highland Way trail race.

Pilgrims' Trail (United Kingdom)

Description

The Pilgrims' Trail long distance footpath is a medieval walk that runs from Winchester to Portsmouth following in the footsteps of the Miquelots, pilgrims who made the long journey to worship St Michael in Normandy. 

This is the 29 mile UK portion of a 155 mile route 

Middle Fork - Cooper Lake (WA)

Description

Start at the Middle Fork trail head and follow the long trail up to the Dutch Miller Gap.  Verdant green, overgrown at times and subject to blowdowns the trail gradually follows the Middle Fork river to the Dutch Miller Gap.   Descend to Ivanhoe (tricky with snow) and then ascend the PCT above Waptus and drop down to Pete Lake (vs. taking the shorter Waptus Trail).

You will have solitude and enjoy running through the heart of the Alpine Lakes Wilderness with 360 degree views of the Alpine Lakes Peaks : Bears Breast, Summit Chief, Chimney, Lemah, Chikamin, Hinman and Daniel.
