Start at the cable car parking lot in Vent (1,895 m). Ascent to the Martin-Busch-Hütte (2,501 m) and further to the Similaunhütte (3,019 m). From there across the glacier to the Similaun (3,603 m). Back to the Similaunhütte and further past the Ötzi monument to the Fineilspitze (3,514 m). Descent without a path over the upper part of the Hochjochferner. Again on the hiking trail to the Hochjochhospitz (2,412 m), past the Vernagthütte to the Breslauer Hütte (2,844 m). From there back to Vent.

It is a nonmotorized recreation trail along the western flank of the Organ Mountains and the eastern side of the Franklin Mountains. The trail provides spectacular views of the mountains, which jut majestically above the desert floor. It is also possible to see wildlife, including mule deer and coyotes, along the trail.
