Bernadette Benson posted this (9/16/2016):

This one could go in Canada, as well, because the trail is a 1,000 mile winter route that goes between Whitehorse, Yukon Territory, Canada and Fairbanks, Alaska, USA. It is used every February in the Yukon Quest sled dog race and the eastern/Canadian side is used every February in the Yukon Arctic Ultra foot (and ski or bike) race. It is a winter trail put in each year, with occasional sectional reroutes/diversions due to safety, dependent on weather conditions that year (e.g., jumble ice, open water on rivers).

Eric Munsing posted the route (11/12/2015):

The Skier's Sierra High Route is a winter route of approximately 35 miles and 11,000ft gross elevation gain, starting at the Wolverton trailhead in Sequoia National Park, and ending at the Symmes Creek/Shepherd's Pass trailhead near Independence, CA. A rough map of the route can be found here; a more detailed map based on ground-truth GPS data would be appreciated.
