Description

The Bataan Death March FKT route follows the 102km historical route of the forcible transfer of approximately 75,000 American and Filipino prisoners of war in 1942, during World War II. Dedication monuments almost every kilometer mark the way. The route begins at Historic Kilometer Marker 0 in Mariveles and ends in San Fernando at the Pampanga Train Station. The route includes substantial sections of sidewalk and bike lanes mixed with sections on the road shoulder. It passes through mostly urban landscape with access to supplies and toilet facilities from local shops and gas stations.

Description

The Yosemite High Route is another High Route created by Andrew Skurka (refer to https://andrewskurka.com/adventures/yosemite-high-route/ for details). It officially starts in the Yosemite backcountry - the "northern terminus" is Grace Meadow, in the far northern section of the park (on the PCT), at gps coordinates of approximately 38.14846, -119.61116, where a creek from the east joins Falls Creek. This is where the FKT begins.
