Description

Bishop's Sky Marathon is a local classic point-to-point that traverses behind the iconic skyline west of town. The route connects the Piute Pass and Pine Creek Pass trailheads through a network of exposed single track. Most of the course is high and exposed between 9,500' and 11,400' above sea level.

Pick your poison over 24 miles & change - Northbound or Southbound.

Northbound offers less vertical gain with a net downhill finish that drops some 5,000' down steep, tech switchbacks to the trailhead sign at the lot. Southbound offers a steep 5,000' ft climb out the gate that gently drops through a canyon and climbs a bit more before dropping down a techy single track to the finish.

       Northbound Route:

Make your way toward Piute Pass Trail at the junction of the pack station and trailhead lot. Continue up Piute Pass Trail to Piute Canyon Trail. Stay on Piute Canyon Trail until French Canyon Trail. Turn right onto French Canyon Trail and continue to Pine Creek Pass Trail. From Pine Creek Pass, enjoy a 5,000' descent to the trailhead.

        Southbound Route:

From the Trailhead sign, enjoy a decent climb to Pine Creek Pass. Continue on French Canyon Trail to Piute Canyon Trail. Turn left onto Piute Canyon Trail and        enjoy a bit more climbing to Piute Pass. From the pass, continue down Piute Pass Trail to North Lake Campground. Continue past North Lake Campground to the finish at junction of the pack station and trailhead lot.
